At home on the Murray, this boat is best described as a true head-turner—she will draw admiring glances wherever she cruises or lies berthed. Built 1936 in Mannum by Ross Sen, this elegant river cruiser has benefited from numerous upgrades, thoughtful improvements, and a history of well-documented maintenance and slipping over time. The most recent insurance risk assessment, completed in May 2025, noted that Nankeen is maintained in exceptional condition throughout.
On boarding, Nankeen welcomes you aboard as a comfortable and spacious river vessel, designed for relaxed cruising and entertaining. The weatherproof afterdeck offers a generous outdoor area ideal for taking in the scenery or enjoying a quiet drink at day’s end.
Stepping forward into the main saloon, you’ll find a light and airy space with a dinette for meals or socialising. To port, the well-equipped helm station features VDO instrumentation, GME UHF radio, Navman depth sounder, and Magellan GPS, providing the skipper with all essential navigation and communication at hand.

The space is fitted with a Swift four-burner stove, grill, and oven, Dometic 220L three-way fridge/freezer, and a coffee machine, all complemented by generous cupboard storage and a convenient pull-out pantry. Adjacent to the galley is a comfortable lounge area, featuring a sofa that converts to a generous double bed, along with a wall-mounted TV for onboard entertainment. For year-round comfort, a diesel heater efficiently services both the forward and aft cabin areas.
Forward, at the bow, features a comfortable V-berth double bunk arrangement, allowing to sleep four aboard, for extended stays. Opposite, there is ample storage and hanging space, for personal belongings and gear. The head compartment is neatly fitted out and includes a hot and cold shower, vanity basin, and marine toilet.
